Incentives
OVERVIEW
The financial incentives to go solar are tremendous! There are many sources of the incentives and each program has different parameters and availability windows. We are familiar with each program that will benefit your project and will provide you with the latest information.
The Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency, www.dsireusa.org, is considered the source for all solar incentives. They do a tremendous job of staying current on programs across the country.
Here is an overview of some incentives available:
Federal Tax Credit: Through 2008, 30% of the cost of your Power-Spar® system can be used as a tax credit… a reduction of taxes owed. This can be carried into future tax years as needed to absorb the credit when most appropiate for your business.
California Solar Initiative (CSI): For systems of our size, the CSI offers a Performance Based Incentive (PBI). The PBI will pay an incentive for each kilowatt-hour your Power-Spar® systems generates for five years. When your utility representative visits your facility each month to read your usage meter, they will also read your solar meter to know how much to pay you each month.
Other incentives include an advanced depreciation schedule on our Federal taxes. In each case, we will research all available incentives and bring them to the project.
